Revolution
Revolution: An extreme or radical change in history.
The Olympics certainly fit that definition. For the first time, countries all over the world were stopping their wars, just to play games. And the games have been affected, also. Every year, the technology for the sports involved in the Olympics has dramatically improved. The Olympics have even revolutionized the way people advertise. The Ancient Olympics were a revolution because they were a new form of worship to Zeus, the king of the gods. They were also a revolution because of the truce involved, to allow players to travel safely. The first Modern Olympics were also a revolution, because they brought countries together, gave them a sense of pride and changed the world of sports by producing one big series of games that people from all around the world could compete in. Revolution also played a big part in the Special and Paralympics. These games changed the way people looked at others with disabilities. Before these games started, people with disabilities were believed unable to do certain things, but those naïve thoughts were banished when everyone saw what these people could do.
